P.G. Molinari & Sons

Ask any local in San Francisco about the Molinari family, and you’ll get a smile and most probably a lengthy story about how the Italians helped rebuild San Francisco after the devastating 1906 earthquake. Since arriving on the Pacific shores in 1892, Pasquale Giusseppe Molinari and his sons have produced traditional Italian sausages for over 120 years.

Today, Molinari and Sons remains the oldest Italian salame manufacturer in the U.S., with more international awards than any other U.S. salame maker and the only authentic salame still produced in San Francisco. As a small family-owned company, the Molinaris take enormous pride in their quality and reputation. Needless to say, they wanted a proper website to express their century-long excellence.

Our role in the project

After diving deep into Molinari history and the manufacturing process, we created a website that tells its past and present story to the whole nation. A stunning video montage that captures the company’s ethos and a timeline with historical photos greets the visitors, who can then order online or learn more about the time-honored process of salame making.

The shop section includes over 30 products from a selected list of delicacies and a fast checkout. For partners and distributors, we designed an inviting contact form so they can quickly get in touch with the sales staff. And, as a small tribute to Molinari’s culinary contribution in San Francisco, we included the landmark Golden Gate Bridge in the footer’s background.

Working close with Molinari and Sons and learning about their rich history, made us realize that tradition, perseverance, and continuity are equally important as innovation and digital transition.
